Susan Lee-Merrow – Senior Business Counselor

Susan Lee-Merrow is the Associate State Director for the Virginia SBDC Network. She started working with small businesses at the San Francisco SBDC as a business counselor and more recently at Mason SBDC in Fairfax as a certified business analyst, where she continues to work with small-business clients as a volunteer counselor.
Before becoming involved with the SBDC program, Lee-Merrow was in the consumer software industry, holding such positions as vice president of marketing or director of marketing at Lucas Learning, Living Books, Broderbund Software, and Stagecast Software. Her expertise in branding resulted in four of her products being named among the top ten brands of the decade in children’s software: Carmen Sandiego, Living Books, Star Wars DroidWorks, and Stagecast Creator. She served as President of the Game Developers Conference, and shepherded its sale to Miller Freeman (renamed CMP).
Lee-Merrow developed the Integrated Marketing Program at San Francisco State University and served as the Program Advisor, while teaching two of the five classes, Branding Strategies and Essentials of Integrated Marketing.
